While education is important, it can often feel overwhelming to try to navigate through everything that goes into making sure your student is getting the best and most out of their own education.  It is my goal to work with you, as a team, and provide individualized learning that meets your child’s needs.  I believe that every child learns in their own unique way, and I strive to help you and your student find tips and tricks to make learning enjoyable.  Listed below are a few educational support options that I offer.

Early Literacy

Literacy is the foundation of learning, and it is comprised of many pieces.   Letter recognition, phonetics, and comprehension are a few aspects that make up reading.  A strong early literacy foundation will help your student in every aspect of their life, both in and out of the classroom.  Through fun, engaging and hands on activities that fit your student’s interests, early literacy can be exciting and educational.

Study/Executive Functioning Skills

For some students, keeping track of homework, breaking down large assignments, and studying for tests can be completely overwhelming.  During every educational support session, we find tricks, tips and techniques that best work for the individual student to consistently and successfully understand and maintain their school work and extra curricular activities.

Homework Support

Understanding an assignment, answering questions, or even staying focused enough to complete an assignment is sometimes quite difficult.  Many students find it helpful to have someone there to guide them through assignments, or answer questions.  From algebra, to writing, to psychology, to language arts, and everything in between, your student will be supported.

Distance Learning

We have had a drastic shift in how we educate young minds, and distance learning is quickly becoming a common phrase in many homes.  Navigating through the various learning platforms, completing the work, and staying on task is very difficult for many students.  All educational support sessions can be done remotely, and many families have found it helpful to have an extra set of hands and eyes on the students work.

Parent Testimonials

Before Megan, schoolwork was a stressful experience.  Our intelligent, ADHD son felt like a failure, and we were frustrated with his disorganization, lack of follow-through, and poor grades.  Megan understood his challenges right out of the gate, and together they took baby steps to get him on a path to better comprehension and more consistent success.  Now, his grades are mostly As and Bs.  More importantly, he no longer hates school, or feels like he’s a failure.  And best of all, we have a better relationship with our child.    -Heidi and Erik
